Ian Macfarlane has been visitingstakeholders in Northern Ireland including members of the Northern Ireland Marine Task Force
In April, Ian visited a number of stakeholders in Northern Ireland including members of the Northern Ireland Marine Task Force, who are developing a Marine Bill for Northern Ireland, and the East Border Region Group of cross-border councils at whose meeting Paul MacArtain and he made presentations to representatives of 5 councils concerned with the environment and biodiversity describing the work of BioMara. Later, at the invitation of the Northern Irish Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside (CNCC), a group from BioMara – Michele Stanley, Paul MacArtain and Ian made presentations on the work of BioMara in the Department of the Environment’s Klondyke House to a group invited by CNCC. Sheila Heymans also presented the results of the work on storm cast seaweed done in South Uist by SAMS’ Kyla Orr.
