BioMara held a public meeting in Stornoway on the afternoon of the 3 September 2010. The meeting opened with a general overview of the project, looking at its background and potential outcomes. This was followed by presentations on the biofuel potential of both seaweeds and microalgae.  The meeting was then opened to the floor for a general question and answer session on how this type of technology might be used to generate energy in the Western Isles.
